El Regreso Del Deportivo – S6 E3 – Progress?

Welcome back to the final blog of season 6 and have we finally made the progress that we were looking forward? Lets open with some big news coming out of the club!

Both strikers have left the club, i struggled to keep them both happy with playtime and some broken promises later i was forced to sell them, At least we made a profit on both of them, but this changes my summer plans as i will need to figure out a plan for the top end of the pitch.

Youth Intake

A very solid intake this time around, nobody to head straight into the first team, but some room for growth definitely, the pick outs for me are Madu and Garcia, with the game rating Dani as the best.

Copa Del Rey

No more progress in the cup this season as we fall to Real Sociedad in the quarters, we took the lead in the game but weren’t able to hold on, no magic cup run this season but overall i think a solid showing for a club of our size.

La Liga

This looks better, we love to lose at least once a month but some really good results picked up, such as 3-0 vs Bilbao and the massive 2-0 against Barca, who in truth have had a bad season but given the difference in wage bills! Most disappointing was the 1-0 loss to Girona! spoiler but they got relegated.

Hey, I’m happy with that, 9th place finish, best we have had while I’ve been in charge and is 100% progress on our previous seasons in La Liga, 8 point of Europe isn’t bad, hopefully we can close the gap even further next season, its slow and steady progress here. Let’s see how we cope with 2 new strikers next season.

Youth Player Promotion

David has had a great season in my eyes, a lot of sub appearances but I have really lent on his versatility coming off the bench, he will be in the squad again for next season and I will try to give him some more starts.

End Of Season Review

So that wraps up season 6, and overall its been a success i think! i may have a small week break from the save and get back to it next week. But hopefully i can do some business in the summer to replace the hole in the squad left by Gori and Mulatteri.

Thanks for stopping by and i hope you enjoyed, don’t forget to check out the other blogs on DPFM.
