El Regreso Del Deportivo – S6 E1 – We Have To Step Up This Season!!

Welcome back to season 6 guy!! i don’t think i have done 6 seasons with a club for a while on FM, but I’m still enjoying it with Deportivo and i hope you guys are as well, lets dive into season 6 pre season, I tried to be more precise with my purchases this window, identifying areas of weakness and other areas that needed improving. This was made tougher by a reducing transfer budget to £8m compared to the usual £10m I’m used to.

Transfers Out

Noel Lopez left the club on a free to Bochum, he never really developed as i wanted him to and we have no outgrown his level of ability.

Ibrahim Karamoko was sold to Parma, i just could not forgive him for the Copa Del Rey final, this also means Juan gets more of a chance in the first team this season.

And the final man out of note is Alberto Soro, he has served us well but i was struggling to balance pay time between all of our main wide players so i moved on Soro who was the poorest performer of all our wide players. He has moved to Frosinone.

Transfers In

Maxime Busi (£2.5m) – Busi comes in to replace Valin in the first team squad, as i identified that the RB area was a problem area for us, so Busi should move the needle there and i am hoping Trilli can carry on developing well.

Isaa Lihadj (£2.5m) – Isaac has arrived at the club as a squad player but mainly as cover if we need to switch to a more inside minded winger in our tactics if Niemi isn’t available.

Christoph Klarer (£2.5m) – Klarer arrives at the club to replace Rayan and gives us way more quality and depth with our CB’s as we now have 3 very experienced CB’s which should mean when needed to rotate, we don’t weaken the starting 11 as much.

Alan Thompson (£435k) – Alan was signed on deadline day, and is definitely one for the future, if we can work on his mental’s than i can see him in the first team squad soon.

Andrea Scardina (£1m) – Andrea signed from Juve is same as Alan, one for the future, but has a nice base to work with, i also do have a soft spot for Italian CM’s lol.

Youth Player Promotion

David Mella gets the nod this season to step up to the first team squad, there wasnt any stand out players that were ready to make the step up this season, so David gets the call up because he can play either side so provides excellent cover

Pre Season Results

Slightly smaller pre season this season as we really concentrated on playing some similar reputation teams on our pre season tour of England, The Coventry game was disappointing as we were better throughout but somehow lost 3-1, other than pretty much as expected and pleasing to see both Mulaittieri and Gori both scoring a decent amount, promising as we really need both of them firing this season.

So that’s pre season done and dusted and i am hoping for a real sesaon of progress this year, we really need to move up that table to achieve our goals with this club. I will see you all for the mid season blog, thank you all for stopping by and all the support.
