El Regreso Del Deportivo – S5 E1 – Operation Progress

Welcome back guys and here we are for season 5, this is the usual pre season blog covering transfers in and our pre season results.

The finances are again looking very healthy again, with more money in the bank from this time last season, we have also had our wage budget doubled from last season also, which shows the board is looking to back me even more. But on that point that have a look at an interesting news article.

Our wage expenditure is the lowest in the league, which makes our 12th placed finish look even more impressive, and we are £4.9M off the Barca wage expenditure!! Might take me longer to close that gap than i thought.

Transfers In

Sergio Arribas – (Free) – Sergio comes in to try and improve our quality on the AML area, as last season i felt we were very poor at finishing our chances. Carlos Doncel has left the club to make way for Sergio, Carlos had been with us all through the leagues but has reached his limit has made the step down down to the second division.

Kristoffer Askildsen – (£3.5m) Kris comes in to replace Diarra who like Doncel has stepped back down a league, Kris improves the quality and depth in the BBM role.

Bautista Alfonso – (£2.5M) I wasnt on buying another LB but i felt like i couldn’t turn down Alfonso, his physicals are outstanding!!! this means recent arrival Terzic has gone out on loan.

Simone Villa – (£2M) Simone comes in as a potential one for the future, he will play for Coruna B for this season and we will see what next season holds for him.

Samuele Mulattieri – (£2.7M) Mulattieri comes highly recommended by a fellow blogger (you know who you are ;)) i have been keeping tabs on him and the perfect chance arises with a relegation clause so i jumped on it.

Toni Niemi – (£700k) Another player i wasnt planning on signing, but he appeared on my scout report and i felt he was worth it at 700k.

Youth Player Promotion

Juan is the youth player to make the step up to the first season, and i have been waiting for this young man to be ready since our first youth intake! he looks like he could be a very good player for this club.

Pre Season Results

A very solid set of results, i was unsure going into the Birmingham and West Brom games if i should be expecting us to win or not, both ended in draws! And yes that is a 20-0 win you see lol, its great warm up to the season and the boys morale should be sky high going into the new season.
