El Regreso Del Deportivo – S4 E2 – We Could Be In Trouble

Welcome back for the mid season blog of season 4, and we have had a tough start to life in La Liga, which we will get into soon, but can some of my January business help us.

Youth Intake Preview

Ahhh the classic golden generation preview, we have had to deal with this a couple of times and haven’t really had a good one since our first season, so we will see, perhaps this year is different.

January Window

Three new faces in Jan this season, i always keep my eye out for players just in case the right ones comes up, however these signings were made with depth in mind, as i feel we need more quality in depth if we want to make a go of La Liga.

Jakub Stolarcyz (375k) – Jakub comes in to replace Pablo Brea as the backup GK, he is an upgrade and i feel he will make for fine cover if Dragan Rosic is ever injured or on international/

Alexis Arce (2.2mil) – Alexis Acre come in as the third choice young striker i always like to have, taking Noel Lopez’s spot in the squad, as Lopez has not developed in the way i wish so has been moved to our B team, Alexis has the potential to ve a very good player for us as is perhaps already better than Alberto Quiles, our 2nd choice striker.

Aleksa Terzic (1mil) -Terzic was brought into replace Hayden Coulson as he was moaning about lack of playtime, which i wasnt giving as he simply wasnt good enough so Aleksa is in for that added quality and depth, Coulson was sold to Bristol City for 350k.

Copa Del Rey

Disappointly we have been knocked out by Badajoz, who are in the league below, i did play a rotated team but still expected a win if i am honest, but perhaps this could be a blessing in disguise.

La Liga

Well what a start to the season we had, 4 games unbeaten and at one point we were sat top of the table, but those 4 games were some of the weaker teams in the league. When we lost to a bigger team in Villareal, well it all fell apart!! Thats 15 games without a win in the league, i was worried, but im hoping the upturn in form agaisnt the teams we beat earlier in the season means that we stand a chance of staying up by beating teams around us. Let’s see where we stand in the table>

Considering we went 15 games without a win, so i have to be happy with where we are, but we need to be extra careful to carry on the upturn on form so we don’t get dragged into that relegation battle below.

Youth Player Promtion

Just a quick check in on Palo, so far this season he has played 12 games (6 starts 6 sub) scoring one goal and getting one assist, with a solid 6.83 rating. Really a solid start for Palo, which is a good thing, give him a chance to build on this for next season.

So thats the mid season blog done for season 4, thank you for stopping by and i hope you enjoyed! Let’s hope we kick on and survive.
