El Regreso Del Deportivo – S4 E1 – Prepping For The Big League

Welcome back guys to season 4 and our first season in La Liga, in this blog we will go through my transfers in preparation for our first season back in La Liga, I had to have a good pre season as my aim is to survive. A little bit of housekeeping first, i realised i forgot the youth intake in all the excitement, luckily it wasnt anything to write home about lol.

The finances are looking really healthy, this is obviously from all the TV revenue that we will be getting, i am happy that the finacial security is secure, and hopefully that will really allow us to kick on up the table. We were given £10 million to spend with a wage budget of £220,000. This gives me loads to work with to try and get this squad ready for life in La Liga.

Now this isnt the whole story with the business i did, there are two players that i brought in that appeared on last seasons transfer history. but lets meet the new men!

Marvin Park – Park comes in to play from that AML position with his very strong right foot, stats wise he isn’t the best but his dribbling and acceleration really stood out for me.

Gabriele Gori – Gori has arrived as i hope the answer to the problem that has niggled me throughout this save and this is goals from our ST, his stats suggest he could be the man.

Bruno Amione – A CB wasn’t planned but Bruno appeared on a scout report and i was impressed so we bought him in and he takes Jaime Sanchez’s spot in the squad.

Gideon Mensah – Throughout the whole of last season i was worried about our quality and depth and LB, so this was one of my main priorities for this window and we settled on Mensah, a little older than my normal player profile but provides experience at this level.

Filippo Ranocchia – With the promotion i have altered one player role on the tactic to a BWM, so we needed to bring in players for that role and we picked up Filippo on a free.

Ibrahim Karamoko – Another player to fill that BWM role.

Youth Player Promotion

Every season i am going to try and promote a youth player into the first team squad and this season it is Palo, he didn’t come through our academy, we signed him in my first season i believe and now i think he is ready to make that step up.

Pre Season Results

Well that is what you call a successful pre season, we beat a couple of good sides (Feyenoord and Club Brugge) im guessing they had some rotated teams but still impressive from the boys. Fingers crossed we can carry this form into the season.

Job Offer

During the pre season, the Alaves board offered me an interview for their vacant position, i have obviously declined, but its nice to see some more established La Liga clubs are taking notice.

Thats a wrap for the pre season blog for season 4, overall i am very pleased and fingers crossed for the season. Thanks for reading guys, the support is amazing.
