El Regreso Del Deportivo – S3 E1 – Not The Summer I Wanted.

Welcome guys to season 3 of El Regreso Del Deportivo, in this blog we are going to go over pre season and the limited transfer business i was able to do.

Pre Season

A little bit of a mixed pre season from us, we started with a pre season cup that we were invited to, we opened with Besikitas in the semi final which we lost 3-1, but competed with a very good side for most of the game, we then went on to play SK Austria Klagenfurt in the third place playoff and won easily.

We then took the short trip south to Portugal for a pre season tour, where we won, drew and lost, playing games in quick succession took its toll on the lads legs.

We then finished couple friendlies against Vigo B and FK Austria Vienna, Vienna was a solid game against were we competed with a European side.

Transfers In

As you can see only the 3 in and 2 out other than Jordan Thoimley who leaves after just a year at the club who didn’t really have a great season with us. As well as veteran defender full backs Alberto Benito and Hector Hernandez who were 31 and declining. i really wanted to have a big summer and bring some fresh faces in, however the club is at its limit financially, so we are at the point where someone has to leave to bring someone in, we did however manage to bring in 3 new faces.

First man through the door is Copete, a young defender from Ponferrada for 500k, a big layout but i think he really moves the needle for the club at the back.

Second man is Noah Cadiou in on a free, he really is just a cover for the midfield as i felt we lacked a little bit of quality in back up.

Third man through the door is Hayden Coulson, who comes into replace the outgoing Hernandez, his crossing isn’t the greatest but he is an improvement for us.

One to Watch

In this section i am going to talk about the player that i think is going to have a big season for the club, the player this season is Marco Brescianini. Marco broke into the starting line up at the back end of last season and really made his mark on the team, he can play well in all 3 positions across the middle 3. So he is my pick for big things this year and i hope he can be a big performer for us.

Breakthrough Season

In this section i will talk about a young player that i think will have their breakthrough season, as most players i do like to bring players through the academy and as an Arsenal fan, obviously i am a big fan of what Arsenal’s Hale End has produced recently.

The player this season is Trilli, a RB straight out of our development centre, he is a lad i have been keeping an eye on his development last couple of seasons. Trilli has been promoted as a replacement for Alberto Benito, he isn’t perfect but has great Physical stats and I’m hoping the exposure to first team football will boost them Technical stats.

That is the end of the pre season blog, i am hoping that we can really push on this season and make the playoffs, so we will see. it was frustrating i wasn’t able to bring in more faces but hopefully we can still get business done.

Thanks for reading and i hope you enjoyed! all RT’s are appreciated.
