El Regreso Del Deportivo – S2 E1 – Mid Season Round Up

Welcome back guys, you rejoin us at the mid way point of season 2 and in this blog, we are going to round up the season at the mid way point and cover all the transfer ins and some outs.

The New Men On The Scene.

As you can see i have been fairly busy, the first bit of done was to sign Victor Garcia permanently after his very successful loan last season.

Youssouf Diarra comes in to bolster the midfield after a lose we will cover in a bit, Diarra has a the magic high work rate rating, which i love!

Ervin Omic comes in on a free as one for the future.

Jordan Thorniley has arrived to play in rotation with Jaime Sanchez at CB.

And yes i did it!! I signed Farofa, the man i was blushing over last season after scoring a bag full of goals last season! and we got him for 3.3k!! Bargain!

Arnaud Lusmaba came in as a back up CM(AP) but has had a decent amount of starts after impressing early on.

After shipping out Ian Mackay, well beacuse he was 36, my scouts found Dragan Rosic, who has had a solid start, but at 26 still has room to grow at 26.

Jordan Shipley signed to be a rotation option with Sergio Gil at CM(DLP).

Marco Brescianini came in as a backup for CM and one for the future, but he has really been stamping his authority all over our middle 3. As you can see, i have been concentrating on improving the middle of the pitch as that is a key area for my tactic.

Transfer Summary

Looks like a lot of outs, but they are mainly loans, the biggest sale was of Pep Calavera, who i didn’t want to sell but my hard was forced, but overall, very happy with that window making profit while i believe improving the team is always a positive.

Copa Del Rey

Still early in the Copa Del Rey obviously, a fairly routine win over A Getxo, we played a fairly rotated team but young Lopez played a blinder amd has given me a selection headache for our sole forward role. Next round is Almeria, who are in the same division so a tough test.

Spanish Second Division

As you can see a real mixed bag in terms of result, an awful start which had me really worried that it was going to be a hard long season, but we managed to stabilise a little with Victor Garcia really standing out for me. But lets see where we are in the table!

League Table

Well not too bad right? i am fairly happy with that, only 3 points of the playoff spots and clear of the relegation scrap below us. The board a very pleased with how things are going.

Well that concludes the mid season review of season 2, as we look to carry on as we are really and maybe next season look to push for promotion back to the First division.

Thank you so much for stopping by and to everyone that likes and RT’s i have some plans to try and improve the blog going into season 3.
